Xavier University – Ateneo de CagayanOn 12-13 October 2011, the Philippine Research, Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET) will conduct a Beginners Training Workshop on IPv6 at the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Said activity is in line with the ongoing promotion of IPv6 adoption in the country, equipping Philippine institutions with proper technical know-how on the migration and deployment strategies of the new Internet Protocol. The two (2)-day workshop would be divided into two (2) areas: a) the IPv6 training; and b) IPv6 deployment.

The training will be attended by technical staff both from the government and private sectors. The primary requirements for the training are knowledge on networking fundamentals, as well as basic IPv4 routing and troubleshooting techniques,” said Training Instructor Rod James U. Bio.

The Beginners Training Workshop is organized by the DOST-ASTI Training Unit and Xavier University’s College of Computer Studies. Said effort is in accordance with PREGINET’s advocacy to assist the government, academic and private institutions in their migration to IPv6.
