PREGINET participates in the 39th APAN Conference

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Advanced Science and Technology Institute’s (ASTI) Philippine Research, Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET) participated in the 39th Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) Conference held in Fukuoka, Japan last 24 February 2015 to 06 March 2015. PREGINET was represented by its technical head, Mr. Bayani Benjamin R. Lara, Senior Science Research Specialist Rod James U. Bio, and Science Research Specialist II Alvin M. de Gracia.

Said event was co-located with the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies 2015 and the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre 39th Meeting wherein the program schedule spanned network and application technologies, as well as advanced networking case studies.

DOST-ASTI continually supports and participates in APAN events and activities as these provide pertinent knowledge helpful in the improvement of activities and services hosted by PREGINET. In January 2016, the Philippines will be hosting the 41st APAN Conference, which will be spearheaded by the Institute.

APAN is a non-profit international consortium for research and education networks in the Asia Pacific region designed to offer an advanced networking environment for the research and education community and promote global collaboration.

DOST-ASTI is one of the primary members of APAN since January 2004.
