Video streaming of the ASEAN ICT Masterplan (AIM) 2015 ForumDue to several benefits that can be gained by employing a video streaming technology, the Department of Science and Technology – Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) tapped the Philippine Research, Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET) to provide technical assistance in a video streaming solution for the “ASEAN ICT Masterplan (AIM) 2015 Forum” last 15 February 2012 at the DOST-ICTO, C.P. Garcia Ave., U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.

The AIM 2015 Forum aimed to provide an opportunity for an information exchange on how ICT stakeholders could work together to successfully implement the ASEAN ICT Masterplan (AIM) 2015 in the Philippine context. Further, it introduced the AIM 2015 framework, as well as the specific action points for collaborative partnerships between public and private sectors.

Having its first video streaming activity, the DOST-ICTO expressed its deepest gratitude for the help that the  PREGINET Team has extended, specifically, in lending equipment  and providing short sessions on how to stream a video.

“This activity, which was undertaken by the PREGINET and DOST-ICTO, is really beneficial. This is a form of a technology transfer. Now, the DOST-ICTO has the ability to stream all their events, symposia and forums,” said PREGINET Multimedia Engineer Alvin M. de Gracia.

Said forum was attended by the Philippine ASEAN delegates, selected government officials, academe representatives and ICT industry practitioners.
